Mark's Bio

Mark Hunnicutt committed to Jesus in 1980 and accepted a “ministry call” in 1992. In 1994 he married his High School sweetheart, Cheryl Hunnicutt. Cheryl works as an On-Call Trip Leader for Compassion International. She leads child advocacy mission trip to most third world countries - releasing kids from poverty in Jesus' name. They sponsor two precious African children and have several godchildren but no kids of thier own. Before becoming NewPointe Dover Campus Pastor he served as Pastor of Ministries at Mud Creek Church, one of the top ten largest baptist churches in NC, from 1996 to 2014. He also instructed at Fruitland Baptist Bible College from 1998 to 2014.
Hunnicutt holds degrees from Fruitland College, North Greenville College and Masters International School of Divinity. Mark is certified in Disaster Relief and leads teams in responding to foreign and domestic disasters. He also is very involved in global missions leading teams yearly around the world. In 2012 he was in Africa when diagnosed with Male Breast Cancer.
Mark enjoys adventure with his wife Cheryl, EPIC movies and most reality TV shows especially Amazing Race & Survivor, the Duke Blue Devils and anything involving fishing!
Mark believes that Jesus is enough! He is constantly learning and living that message since being diagnosed with Leukemia two weeks before his High School graduation.
Mark dislikes chemotherapy, country music, candy corn and rice krispy treats. His kryptonite is candy corn mixed into a rice crispy treat. So, never administer chemo to him playing loud country music while eating candy corn rice krispy treats.
Mark believes that the local church is the hope of the world!
